Drummers 12 Step Program

1. We admitted we were powerless over our need to
drum - that life without drumming had become
unmanageable.

2. Came to believe that a Power greater than
ourselves could restore our sore hands after a night
of Drum Jamming.

3. Made a decision to turn our need to learn good
slaps and tones over to a good teacher as we
understood Him.

4. Made a searching and fearless inventory of our
drum bags.

5. Admitted to God, to ourselves and other human
beings the exact nature of our need for drumming.

6. Were entirely ready to have God, through divine
acceleration of our natural abilities, develop us into
djembefolas.

7. Humbly asked Him to do so.

8. Made a list of all persons we had drummed with and
became willing to drum with them again as soon as
possible.

9. Made direct phone calls to such people wherever
possible, making sure they knew about the next local
drum event.

10. Continued to take personal inventory and on the
rare occasion that we were off the rhythm, promptly
admitted it.

11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve
our conscious contact with God and our Drum as we
understood Them, praying only for knowledge of Proper
Technique and the power to carry that out.

12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of
these steps, we tried to carry our drums everywhere
and to practice these principles in all our affairs.
